Overseas Mission and Service Team

Sending people into the world to proclaim the Good News and serve the needy so all may know Jesus and worship him.

Good Shepherd is committed to sharing the Good News and the love of Jesus overseas. In the past we have partnered in the work of the Lutheran Church Mission Uganda (LCMU) through resources, teaching, and supporting a pastor through Seminary.

Good Shepherd has also developed a relationship with the Cebu Missionary Foundation, now known as IGC Foundation SE Asia who work among the very poor in Cebu, Philippines. In 2006 we sent our first mission team to Cebu. Two members from this team returned for ten months in 2007/2008. Two teams also visited in 2008 and other individuals have visited Cebu since then. We continue to support the work in Cebu through regular fundraising activities. To view their newsletter, go to News from IGC Foundation SE Asia for 2013

As well as The Cebu Missionary Foundation, we are now supporting Maranatha Health, Uganda. This exciting new project was started by Michael and Kimberley Finlay. Kimberley grew up attending Good Shepherd Church. We support this project through regular fundraising and a number of Good Shepherd members volunteer their time to serve this project in various capacities. Good Shepherd also promotes the excellent work of Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS). ALWS provide quality aide to a number of regions overseas. To learn more about ALWS go to www.alws.org.au
