Connecting with God and this community
"To walk alongside, nurture and care for people who are transitioning into the Good Shepherd community and establish them as part of this family."
Whether you are seeking to connect or reconnect with God or become a part of this church community, we provide means through which this is possible.
Beginnings
The purpose of this course is to give a basic introduction and grounding in the Christian faith and equip the new Christian to live as a disciple of Jesus.
Reconnecting with God
Depending on the background of the person reconnecting with God, courses and opportunities such as Alpha, Christianity Explored or prayer counselling are made available.
How to join this church family
Who wants to jump through hoops to become a member of a church family? However, who wants to be a member of any family when you do not know what their values and beliefs are. As a church we value membership. Membership gives us a place to call home, an extended family to care for us and we for them, there are also certain constitutional rights afforded to members.
Yet Jesus asks us not to make church members but disciples and through the introduction to life at Good Shepherd through the Discovery Course, our aim is to initiate a discipled life as you encounter Jesus in a fresh and remarkable way.
Astrid Wickramarachchi proudly shows her membership certificate to her grandsons, Shaun and Nathan
Discovery is the platform to initiate the fullness of your life in Christ.

Asked to evaluate the Discovery course, Wynand de Wit said, " We really enjoyed the discovery course and I personally found the section on tithing very refreshing and informative ".
Marilene, Wynand's wife said, " I rediscovered the meaning of quiet time after the introduction of the growth [S.O.A.P] journal and the new way of connecting with God ". Together we truly experienced the gift of hospitality when we first visited Good Shepherd and immediately had peace in our hearts knowing that this is where God wants us to worship and spiritually grow. We thank God for this wonderful blessing "
